Kick-off for affordable housing in Côte d’Ivoire
NEULANDT 3P – The answer to growing housing deficits on planet earth
By 2100, there will be 11 billion people living on our planet. Population growth is a huge challenge due to the lack of affordable housing. It is important to act now. Affordable homes must be accessible to many people in the coming few years.
For Bruno Nabagné Koné, Ivorian minister of construction, housing and urban planning, the access to affordable housing is at the top of his agenda. According to him, 150,000 houses are targeted to be built within the next 5 years which is only possible using industrialized solutions.
A milestone has been achieved on 24.06.2021!
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the LIVE² project – an urbanization project soon to be deployed – has been signed between Nhood (represented by Antoine Grolin, Chairman of the Board of Directors) and NEULANDT (represented by Marco Romahn, Managing Director and Richard Lorant, Country Manager NEULANDT Côte d’Ivoire) in the presence of Minister Bruno Nabagné Koné. The MoU is laying the foundation for the industrialized mass production of social and economic housing at Côte d’Ivoire. Part of the MoU is the demonstration of a show house designed by SAGEF/I AM HOME.
“The signing of the MoU underlines the commitment to be actively involved in the creation of affordable housing at the Ivory Coast. Live² will demonstrate that urban quarters can be realized in short time with high quality.” (Marco Romahn)
NEULANDT 3P is identified as the leading technology for the project. It allows for the production of precast concrete elements both economically and industrially, transforming land into spaces with social, economic and ecological added value.
We look forward to an inspiring and successful partnership.
